Imagine our body is a car, the more muscle density you have meant a bigger, more powerful car. Fuel is food.
More energy is needed if you have higher muscle mass just like more fuel consumed in a bigger car.
The food you eat will less likely be stored as fats as it is being used to sustain those muscles. And you are more likely to lose fats this way.
Our body is programmed to stored fats as fuel for our body. This is our natural defence mechanism. Muscle are hard to retain as our body tends to break it down as fuel for our daily activities. In fact, our body does not want muscle, it wants fats, making fat loss difficult.
So the less muscle mass you have, the more likely food will be stored as fats. And the more muscles you’ve got, things becomes otherwise. And losing weight & keeping it off becomes a breeze.
